iPod lost in N.Y. turns up in Puerto Rico
WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y., Feb. 7 (UPI) -- A teenager who lost his iPod in upstate New York said he was shocked and delighted when it was returned by a postal worker who found it in Puerto Rico.
Joe Desotelle, 16, of Williamsville, N.Y., said he lost his iPod while attending an all-state wind ensemble competition in Rochester, N.Y., and he feared he would never see it again until a few weeks later when his mother received a phone call from Puerto Rico, The Buffalo (N.Y.) News reported Tuesday.
"Joe was sleeping when I got the call," said Desotelle's mother, Michelle. "I woke him up and said, 'Can you believe it? Your iPod is in Puerto Rico.' He was thrilled."
Michelle Desotelle said the postal worker, Victor Corrior, told her the iPod fell out of a package in a post office sorting bin and he charged it and got her son's information from the device.
Corrior sent the package back to Joe and it arrived Jan. 6.
"I was amazed that someone actually sent the iPod back," Michelle Desotelle said. "It was just a wonderful thing."
